UAE Visa Application Centre

Effective from 17 March 2020, until further notice, the United Arab Emirates has suspended issuing new visas.

This does not apply to those holding visas issued prior to 17 March, or to those eligible for visa on arrival or holders of diplomatic passports.

Please note that in the current environment, travel restrictions or conditions imposed by governments can change at short notice.

Effective from 5 March 2020, the United Arab Emirates’ Ministry of Health and Prevention urged UAE citizens and residents to avoid travelling abroad due to the spread of the Covid-19 virus in multiple countries.

Those who travel may face preventative measures upon their return to the UAE, including undergoing medical checks at the airport and a 14-day home quarantine.

Those who test positive will be transferred to a designated health facility for treatment and quarantine to ensure their safety and to avoid contact with others.

Under a prior directive of the Government of the UAE, nationals of the UAE are not permitted to travel to Qatar, Thailand or Iran.

Nationals of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Saudi Arabia are no longer permitted to use national ID cards to enter the UAE. They must now use passports.

Nationals of the UAE may use a national ID card to return to the country if they departed prior to 28 February 2020.
